I have a very nice and accurate Tikka T3x chambered in “300 Winchester Magnum” with 1-10 twist. The only criticism I had on it was the magazine prevented me from handloading cartridges longer than SAAMI length of 3.340”. I need to load my heavy bullets (like 200gr ELD-X) longer than that.
I solved this problem by buying an AICS long action bottom metal from Redsnake Tactical, and by getting an AICS 3.715” 300WM magazine from Accurate-Mag. And I also got an AICS magazine adjustment tool from H-S Precision.
Redsnake says this system allows cartridges up to 3.500” in length, and I am happy to report it works as advertised. I installed the Redsnake bottom metal per their instructions, and I adjusted magazine feed lips to be 0.421” wide in back and 0.425” in front. The longer cartridges cycle smoothly.
