I have played with Staball 6.5 in my 7mm08 with 139 Sst’s and it’s very promising. I have went up to 48.5 grs which is 2.5 grs less than hogdon max. 3 shots were all in the 2880’s. No pressure at all that I could see.

I talked to a Sierra manager years ago, about GK’s and prohunters. GK’s base, if driven to fast under 300 yards, are not as sturdy at the base as prohunters. Do the new tipped GK’s have improved jackets?

Tough to beat Big Game. P Pharm: What's the heaviest bullet you've used with Big Game?

I have started using StaBALL 6.5 in my 7mm-08. The powder flows through my dispenser like water! I'm using a Hornady 139 grain Interlock BTSP. The accuracy is great and I should be getting over 2,750 fps from my short 18 1/2" barrel.
Looking forward to thumping a whitetail or a hog with it!
Chris I have a couple of cans, just never tried it in the 7-08. Have heard good things about it. DF It didn't do horrible with my 22" Featherweight and 130 Speer BTSP's and Bitterroots DF. Kinda made a little 270 out of the 7-08

Yup I heard they were tougher than the regular gameking. I used the 130 out of my 6.5 PRC but have not taken any game. Thicker jackets and harder cores according to Sierra. Would have been simpler if they had simply stuck with the Gamechanger name and not thrown TGK in there to muddy the waters. Really not a GK at all.

Those load work up notes speak the language of my people..... Would that be 1-shot velocity plateau/node workups? Not my language, but the 52.3 gr load seemed to work decent. Would certainly be interesting to see what 51.8 and 52.8 loads do for 3-sht groups.

But yeah, I have lots of notes that look just like that. That's where I'd start looking pretty close for a load, right there around the middle of those velocities if it's near the top end of the load parameters. Just finding a starting point to work from. With a 7-08 I would probably have ran .2 grain increments to get a better initial look at it with that case capacity, but the .3 grain found it quick enough.

139 hornady flat base for deer, 140 partition for bigger stuff would be my choice. It is a starting point for my 280 this year! ^^
I prefer classic. Semper Fi I used to run with the hare. Now I'm envious of the tortoise and I do my own stunts but rarely intentionally

140 Partition at 2925. Nosler case, fed 210 in a 22” Hells Canton speed. It’s light, and handles well in the woods, and has plenty of knockdown power on big elk. I won’t talk about the powder because it’s too hard to find already lol
