Filled my tag on a Mulie buck this season with this load. 475 yards, bang/flop. Velocity at impact should have been around 2100 fps. He didn’t even know I was there. P

People ALWAYS seem to overlook IMR and H 4895 any more, especially in the 223. It just plain works.
W748 is never a bad choice in the 223. I find H322 and Benchmark always good shooters in the 223. If they don't shoot small groups, it is something with the rifle or its barrel.
If accuracy is an issue from your barrel, then 3031 should be your choice. Not TOP velocity, but its always accurate in my experience and you don't give up much in max velocity. and don't overlook good old RL 7 or IMR 4198 in a 223. I've said for decades, it is harder to find a powder that WON'T shoot well in a 223, than it is to find one powder that will outshoot all the rest. a 222 or 223, have got to be two of the most unfinicky cartridges out there in heavy use. I don't overlook H4895 but it's one of the hardest powder to find in my neck of the woods, got 4 pounds I'm saving till I can find more

I usually buy powder in the 8 pound kegs if at all possible... most of what I have was bought when Trump was in office, so it was cheap and available.. I stocked up while the stocking and prices were good...knew it was never going to be the end of the last DemocRAT in office...
and they consider ANY Gun Owner and/or Veteran to be an enemy of the state...
They never say anything about democRAT voting criminals, with guns.. just conservatives...
no one ever seems to point that out...
I'll run out of years of life left in me before I run out of components. and I shoot a lot at our local range.

Tikka T3 (not T3x) stainless Varmint, 1-8” twist, FX-3 12x40 AO with target turrets. Bought the rifle used in November of 2021 from a guy on the Snipershide forum, $885 shipped and insured (which I considered a good, not great, deal). Had a WTB posted here in the classifieds and a ‘Fire member saw the ad and gave me a heads up. Thanks again for that. They’re really hard to find. My other Tikka is a standard Lite stainless but it’s 1-10,” which doesn’t stabilize the heavy bullets well. She’s on fire with 50 gr Ballistic Tip Varmint bullets, though. My son named her Pest Control. P

Congratulations, Pharmseller! I also have a bunch of thos 75gr eld-match bullets as well so tagging this post! Thank you for your help. Glad other chimed in about H4895 and RL15.
Seems like Vihtavouri powders also work in 223rem, such and N540 & N140.
