I was four and don't recall it.

I was a college student in Pittsburgh, walking up hill to the campus for my last class (ROTC) that week. It was a gloomy gray day in Pittsburgh, and I noticed that the city was strangely quiet. And then the city stopped.

It just stopped.

At the ROTC building, the cadre (career Army officers and NCOs who taught us) had planned some sort of get together and their wives were starting to show up. The wives were crying. Some of the cadre were crying. Veterans of WWII and Korea were crying. An old sergeant started our last class with a prayer.

Some of my friends drove to Washington, DC, to stand in line all night and walk past the coffin in the capitol rotunda.

I cannot imagine anyone reacting like that if Biden were to get assassinated.

Bootcamp, Rifle Range Parris Island. DI came in told us with tears in his eyes, told to pack out sea bags, we were on 24 hour notice.

7th grade science class in Berlin New York,, all the teachers were crying and we were bused home early. No school for a few days iirc,,,,,,

I was 5 ....at my grandparents house, coming down the stairs I seen it come on the TV.....I knew something terrible had happened and remember my grand parents saying they could not believe it.

I was about 2.5 years away from happening. I learned over the years that it was not a good thing for him to have been taken out.

My mother told me she cried when he died.

On a different note, when I was young (and later when I served) I got a chill and goose bumps all over me when the star spangled banner played (no shiet) and I understood patriotism. Honestly, that has waned recently, I don't feel we have what we had then and I'm not in lock step anymore. I miss that AMERICA

I was in the 5th grade. Our teacher, Mr. Leggit had just came in the room from the office, and said: The President has just been shot!

We listened to the radio the rest of the day, 'till time for the bus to take us home.
