In the interest of consolidating a few of my ads, figure I would try to put cartridges like the .44 mag and .44 Special, all in one ad.


This ad contains info on the following:

.44 Magnum Heavy Hammer 300 grain WFN hardcast ammo.

.44 Magnum 240 grain semi wadcutter hardcast "THE" load, a general purpose, do everything ammo.

.44 Special 240 grain semi wadcutter, general purpose, hunting ammo.

All ammo is loaded in new Starline brass.



Details as follows:

Heavy, 300 Grain .44 Magnum Wide Nose Hammers.









Velocity is exactly 1,100 FPS out of my 5" Model 29 S&W Classic .44








The pic below shows two groups that were shot at 50 yards from a sandbagged rest, with the Model 29 Classic equipped with a red dot optic.

I noted that the point of impact was roughly 4"s above my point of aim, as the M29 is normally zeroed for 240 grain loads.

(yeah I know I always pull one shot from an otherwise nice group...) smile




I got complete penetration on an average sized bull a number years back at a shade past 100 yards using a 5" M29-2 :







.44 Magnum 240 Grain Semi Wadcutter hardcast ammo




The .44 Magnum Medium load "THE" Load is a general purpose 240 grain Hard Cast Lead Semi Wadcutter. This load is an all around general purpose outdoorsman type load. Good for everything from cleanly taking deer, to black bear, to defense against large animals, and is not a heavy recoiling load. Superbly accurate. Using a 5" barrel Model 29 Classic, 5 shot test group, at 25 yards, the results were .636"s.

At 100 yards the 5 shot test group was just under 3"s (.290"s)








This ammo runs right at 1200 FPS in my 5" Model 29 Classic Smith & Wesson and shoot nice tight groups.







Available in both 50 round or 100 round increments.

Exceptionally accurate, fine tuned load. Developed in N Frame Smiths and Ruger Single Actions. Solid all-around load. Perfect for Deer or other similar size game.


Velocity as tested with my 5" M29 was exactly 900 FPS.









Frankly I don't think there is a Whitetail or Mule Deer or any other medium type game around that is going to brush off a 240 SWC at 900 FPS with this type of accuracy. Most likely this is pushing 1K FPS in 7.5" barrels.
