I’m in PA and sold a shotgun to a fellow in Washington. His FFL will accept from an individual. Been about a year since I’ve sent a long gun. Sent many over the years and always boxed them up good and went to the UPS main hub near me. Never any issue! Was told(checked online as well) that u can no longer ship long guns through any of them unless licensed. How is everybody doing it now? Is it a must to ship from FFL to FFL now? Thanks for the responses fellas.

I believe you can still ship a long gun through the USPS. I intend to do just that today or tomorrow. Check the regs but I think I'm right. Good Luck, Rick

Break it down, create a UPS account, print label from home and drop it off at UPS.

You can ship a long gun through the P.O., but you may have some convincing to do as the counter person may not know it. Be prepared to quote chapter and verse of the regs. I finally convinced my postmaster, but I called him first and explained what I was doing and gave him the applicable reg section over the phone so he could peruse it ahead of time.
You can fudge the shipping through a commercial carrier, but what happens if it gets lost or damaged? Pretty sure you’re SOL. Better to use Ship My Gun, and they also ship handguns. I believe however you need one of their pre-approved FFLs on the other end, which might be a hassle.
What fresh Hell is this?

Ship my guns isn’t an option as they have a 15# weight limit. This is a Remington SP-10. The gun, all the choke tubes and the plastic hard case weighs 16# so that is a no-go! Ugh!

Use pirateship, print label for UPS, make sure outer box has no labels or brands on it (plain box), go to your local hardware or drop off location. no questions and drivers will take them. The branch workers are to nosey and doesn't matter anyways. I ship 10-20 a week, when my normal driver isn't available i drop them off at ace hardware down the street (if its only one or two)

I take mine to a local pawn shop where they charge me $10 to transfer it into their name then ship. Shipping on a long gun runs about $70 with the transfer fee. Sure takes the fun out of trading guns.
