Michigan Unless you *must* have gloss, find a used Nikon 4x32 (Phillipines). Matte, but bulletproof. Have two sitting atop 12- and 2-ga sluggers over 10 years with over 50 slugs out of each. Still holding zero and taking abuse flawlessly. Bright glass to boot!

It originally came in a yellow metal box with a goofy Timex watch included. It was a pretty decent scope. I had it on a Win Low Wall and it looked perfect. Perhaps you can find one floating about.

Bought it new from Gander Mountain in 1989. Good shape from what I remember. Could get you a few pics if interested.
