Been hunting with a different 308 rifle for the last five seasons. I have one of the Burris FF II 3-9x's I simply switch to the next gun in line. Have had the scope for many years and never had a single issue with it. It's not German glass but it works just fine. Have several Burris optics and have zero complaints with them.

I have several and actually like E1's somewhat better...if you get one with the original reticle BSA pictured earlier in the thread.

As a lot of us know, they work great/excellent with standard cartridges. I use them with magnums as well, but sometimes the hash marks do not line up exactly. You may find you need to adjust your zero a bit, but all is good. If you shoot out to 500 yards, they work damn good for some cartridges. I've posted a lot about these scopes in the past and have been using them since '98. Here's a little more, for those that may be interested. I'm only going to post some 400 yard targets, with some rifles I've bought in the last year. One from my buddies grendel he just bought. We had to zero that one in at 200 yards though, because the cartridge has a rainbow trajectory. I'll start with that one in fact: The same buddy just bought a RAR Ranch rifle chambered in 223 and was ringing the steel at 500 yards with this rifle. He kept used the intersection of the thin to heavy part of the reticle for his aiming point. Tagging the 10" steel plate at that distance was like a cake walk: Girlfriends new 243 win: A pre 64 Winchester model 70 270 featherweight: With factory ammo. I have a sneaking suspicion that this rifle is a tack driver. Haven't even developed a load for it though.. These are simple set and forget scopes. They work as advertised. Like what has been said, you may be able to find a stellar deal on one during black friday. They are discontinued and I know that in a couple years you'll play hell trying to find one for less than $200. Worth every penny though, even at that price. My first one cost $175.00 back in '98, so if you guys want to try one, now's the time to buy it!!! Amazed at how well those cheap scopes shoot. . .

I have, one of these 3-9 on a 308 Win. My wife is going to use it in Kansas, pretty soon. I have it mounted up on my LAW, model 704.

Nice shooting rifle, I wish they still made them.

My BIL loves Burris scopes. I have never had one but I may have to buy one to put back if the Black Friday deals are good.

I own two older Short Mag 4.5-14x32 Burris scopes that have never changed point of impact. One has hunted three continents and no problems. BTW, lifetime warranty. MTG

I sent back a 3-9x40 Signature a few months back. It's the posi-lock model with illuminated dot in the duplex reticle. The fast-focus ring seemed loose, so sent it in for repair. Burris had it back to me within 3 weeks with a letter explaining what repairs were done. All seals were replaced, all lenses cleaned, fast focus ring seal replaced, new nitrogen, tested all adjustments and centered the reticle. Way to go, Burris!
History repeats itself because it worked. If it didn’t work in the first place, it wouldn’t be history but another lost story of insignificance.

Burris FFII 3x9 with Ballistic Plex reticle.
If Doug is out of them, they aren't hard to find, even here in the classifieds. Currently selling under $150 and easily the best bang for the buck in the scope market. Yep, I'll second that with my experience so far. Also have the Nikon Pro-staff 3-9 which was once touted as the same when Nikon made them, and I'm not knocking it either it is/was a good scope for the money. But the Burris FF II is clearer.

All of my Burris scopes are the Fullfield 11's, and I like them. Is there any difference between those and the Fullfield E1's? I'm thinking about getting another one, and both are equally priced.

I run two older Burris Signature Select (USA) scopes on a 6.5-300 Wby and a 7mm Wby. Excellent scopes! Also have a couple of FF-II’s on a .358 Win and 7x57 Mauser. I think they may be the best optical bargain out there.

All of my current Burris scopes are FFIIs with a single Droptine 22 scope. I bought an E1 with #4 illuminated reticle used off the classifieds a few months ago. To my eye I couldn’t tell a difference. But… as stupid as this sounds, I greatly prefer the FFII shape/dimensions over either the droptine/e1. I thought the separate power ring would make more difference to me but it doesn’t. Just personal preference I guess.

Stick, I would ask you compared to what and for what purpose?
Compared to a GPS sighting system on the nose of a missile, every scope is a complete steaming pile of crap. But for shots out to say 400 yds the Burris FF II is a very good scope for the money spent, IMO. Your opinion of course may be different for what you're trying to accomplish.
