The Ruger emblem is a Phoenix--a bird that rose from the ashes. It would be very appropriate to affix this decal somewhere on that truck.

That is just way too frickin cool. I love an old school hotrod with a small block Chevy in it!

My great uncle had a '34 he bought new. He gave us kids rides in the bed when we were visiting. Late 50's.
Love to see this when it's done. VERY cool.

This one had the original engine and was the family swamp buggy back in the mid '50s.

I’m not sure if I’ll make it back for pics on this one. Not much interior in there so it will be gone pretty quick.

That one would look a lot better with a flathead V8 in it. I'm thinking of building a replica of Dad's 34 3 window coupe dirt tracker.

Still a cool project no matter what it has under the hood.

Thanks for the post - a very cool car that should look great by the time that master is finished. It brings back lots of memories of some rods in the 50s.

Yeah, as with a lot from back then, it has a Chev SB for a heart. Some folks still harbor bad feelings from when the SB arrived, starting with the 265, and immediately began eating the Ford flatheads - and then the OHV versions. Old history.

Great job bringing that back to life.

A '29 Ford is pretty dang cool, but I've always wanted a '29 Chevy truck.

Done up right like this one.

Must not have burned too terribly bad. A lot of vehicles up there burned so hot there is no hope of restoration.

Cool truck! Your Dad will do it justice.
