Most of my 260 Handloads are stamped 308 Winchester on the bottom...
I get plenty 308 range pick up brass at the range.. it necks down just fine.. and is an endless no cost supply for me..
you don't have anyone who will reload it for you? maybe with alittle money changing hands?
I can't even think about 31.00 a box, or $1.50 each time ya pull the trigger...
Each round I shoot, costs me over 50 cents a trigger pull, but probably way under 75 cents..
If I am shooting at 2500 fps, and using Blue Dot, then under 50 cents a round...especially with Hornady bullets, bought and saved from when they were way cheaper.... and the same with Large rifle primers... bought when the price was $15 to $18 a brick....
Stocked up well under Trump... Got ya beat depending what I'm shooting. Free bullets, free powder, and almost 4 bricks of primers yet that cost me 1.25 cents per round. Can shoot almost 10 times cheaper than current 22 pricing. But my free bullet stash from way back is running much slimmer than it was.

Might as well get the Creedmoor Probably. I have a 260...but won't be getting another. I wanted a 6mm Creedmoure in a Ruger light weight ar10.

The ELD-M is a target bullet.
https://www.hornady.com/bullets/eld-match#!/ So is the 6.5 123 grain Scenar but it's accurate and kills the schit out of stuff too.

A good all around bullet that I use in both my 260 and an AI version is they Sierra 107 HP, it has a decent BC and is light enough to get some good velocity. I use them for everything from Chipmunks to Triceratops. Heck they work great in all my other 6.5 variations.
RUMs are like woman in Stiletto heals, you know they are going to put you in the poor house, but that has never stopped anyone from pursuing them.

Some 308 brass is a bit thick in the neck notably Federal. However I have never had a problem using 308 brass to make 260 brass.

All I could find locally in 260 last year was the Sig Elite Hunter in 130 grain. Supposedly it’s a coated Sierra Tipped Game King bullet with a yellow tip made for Sig. They were accurate and good killers on whitetail.
If I could get ELDM that’s what I’d use. Those have been fantastic through my 6.5 and 30 cals.

Some of us did the .260 before there was a .260.
Unless the chamber had a tight neck .308 brass necked down worked fine.

Cry once, buy Lapua brass or ammo that uses it (Berger or Lapua ammo).
My first 260 has a touch over half it's barrel life left, & the first 200 crap cases I started with have had it.

Or is it because the eldm is almost exactly the same bullet as the eldx except cheaper? But the fudds insist that you must only use "hunting" bullets to hunt, even though the manufacturer provides information (including 10% ballistic gelatin tests per fbi protocol) that prove what the dam bullets do in tissue. Ya, but I'm the sucker lol. Get back back in the "I don't know s hit" lane...

I've had good luck with Berger's factory ammo. When I first started buying it, they were loading the 130gr Hybrid and the 136gr Scenar L. I seem to recall a 140gr load also, but can't find a box laying about that would verify that. They have also since dropped the 136gr load. Seems the 6.5 Creedmoor's popularity outshone the .260. I've only taken one deer with the 136gr load, but I have no qualms about using either bullet on game, even if they are "target" bullets. And the cool part is you get once fired Lapua brass when you are done. Can't complain about that....
I used to get it from Bruno's (on sale) for something stupid like $25 a box....Won't ever see those prices again, not in my lifetime.
