To go on a hunt with my wife in the mountains of Spain for Ibex or Scottish highlands for red stag in 2024.
My wife needed a knee replacement for 4 years now, but kept waiting til she retired (june 1, 2023) from teaching.
but, my retirement present to her was a trip to Greece in September..... she climbed every mountain in Greece without complaining.
Pretty funny.... I kept telling her we don't have to climb every mountain and see everything. She asked "Are you bringing me back to Greece one day>?"
I said "no". She responded "then I will climb every mountain, I don't want to miss anything."
Anyway, she had her knee replacement on Oct 10. Within 2 weeks, she threw down her cane. Pretty good for a 60 yr old.
She's hiking 300-400 yards with hunting gear and rifle to deer hunt.
She has Multiple Sclerosis, but although it slows her down when it's hot, in cool weather she is good to go.
We're trying to get in shape. I've lost from 270 to 226 so far in the last year. I plan to be 210 by March.
She doesn't need to lose any weight. 5'3'' and 113 pounds. but, she needs endurance breathing for mountain hiking.
Now that she's more and more able, we will soon start hiking a lot.
Still, thinking we do Scotland in 2024 and Spain in 2025.
Christmas wish, though?
I'm a fortunate man with a wonderful and beautiful wife.
2 kids that anyone would be proud of with spouses that are amazing.
We have 3 grandkids and 1 on the way (March).
Life is good. We are blessed.
