I'd love to get merc's at $90 a roll. I'm trying to get to 10,000 merc's but the shops around here want $2.50 each.

Silver Eagles with the correct year are my gift of choice for graduation gifts.

Cool choice. Premiums on them are way down from their high last year. For a while, they were going for twice spot. Now they're just a few dollars above spot.

The silver dollar pictured in post one is likely valued at about $30 to 35 dollars. Couple other facts about coins, most silver coins ( pre 1964 ) are usually worth more for the silver content then the coins collector value.
Another common myth about the 1943 wartime steel pennies, people think they are valuable, most are valued at under a dollar.
Another myth is that all old coins are worth big bucks. Really age has little to do with value. Number one reason for high value is the rarity. Number two, is the condition of the coin.
Some people may have a fairly high value coin that may be discolored, and they attempt to clean it. They now have destroyed most of the value. Serious coin collectors want coins in their original unaltered condition.

You can tell a cleaned coin (that otherwise looks uncirculated) by the loss of the frosty luster on the background from when it was first minted. You should be able to turn the coin in your fingers in such a way as to see the light from the room swirling around on it. That is usually missing from cleaned, otherwise uncirculated-looking, coins.

Yes, I even bought a few thousand from fire members. Every once in a while I find a decent deal but most places want a premium for Mercury's.

There's some decent deals on silver this weekend premium wise but spot is up.

My sister has an early Morgan (1860 something?). Called and asked me what to use to clean it!!! 🤯
"DO NOT clean that coin!"
Fortunately, I stopped her before she cleaned it. Whew!
It's safely stored in my gun safe now.

They ended their minting in 1904. They then did a special run of them in 1921 before switching the next year to the Peace Dollar design. A 22 year gap in Morgan minting.

Then they stopped minting the Peace Dollar in 1928, and started again in 1934. They permanently stopped minting the Peace Dollar in 1935.

That was the last silver dollar run. Reason being, folks just horded them in 1934 and 1935, rather than spend them into circulation. They were likely afraid they'd stop minting them again.

Well, actually, hundreds of thousands of Peace Dollars were minted in 1965, but someone changed their mind and they were all melted down before leaving the Denver Mint. That was the year, in fact, they stopped minting any 90% silver coins. All US 90% silver coins with a 1965 date on them (dimes, quarters, half dollars, and dollars) were melted back down in 1965 before ever leaving their mints.
