I waited to write this review from this past July, until I could actually wear these pants and try them out.

First, these pants are warmer than Filson mackinaw wool pants. They also do not itch. They feel as soft as merino, but are more durable/tough. They seem to be nearly impervious to wind - I have not noticed any coming through the material. These have been worn around town and deer hunting, both still and stand hunting. They are wholly sufficient to still hunt down to freezing by themselves. Sitting on stand I put another layer (blanket/sleeping bag) over them.

I recommend getting suspender buttons added, as the thick material does have some weight and suspenders will help keep the crotch properly positioned. I also had Micklagaard add a second cargo pocket on the left leg. I do not understand why they even make them with only one cargo pocket.

The pockets are of useable size. I can carry a 10 round ammo caddy made for belt wear and have room to spare in the pocket. A G42 fits nicely, with room to spare. The front pockets are roomy and tough. The belt loops take a 1.75" rigger's belt.

The staff at Micklagaard gets marked kudos for their hard work helping me get the sizing correct. My second pair of these pants are being made as I type. I cannot give a 5 year review, but wholly expect that to be excellent. These pants feel like leg armor vs. the cold and briars.

These wool pants are worth the $150 + $40 FedEx shipping fee to get them to the US from Sweden.

I think I’m buying a pair of the pro pants. I own a pair of Merino wool pants, no lining or insulation.
