What are the best low light binos available? Am currently using SLC 8x42's and having some trouble identifying antlers on bucks right at last shooting light. I know my eyes aren't what they once were so I'm looking for something to give me the best low light capability. Would the 8x56 SLC make much of a difference over the 8x42 or is there something better out there for the lowest of light conditions that I should be looking at?

Hi Short Mag,

Agree with 10x50-54-56! To me, a 10x50, either Leica Ultravid HD+ or a Swarovski EL SV 10x50 would ne an ideal compromise between size and optics. Depending your age, an exit pupil of 5 mm for a 10x50 is all that can be used by the eyes.
If not, I would get a Swarovski 10x56 SLC or an old, not too long discontinued, Zeiss FL Victory 10x56. Of course, the mentioned Zeiss HT 10X54 is the third option. .
The extra 2x over the 8x, WITH THAT OBJECTIVE SIZES, are a plus for a low liight binocular!

Good luck!

I have a (no longer made) pair of Leupold 6X Yosemite, they work great at first light/last light.
