I have used te 143 grain eldx and the 147 grain eldm out of a 6.5 PRC to kill big wild hogs at point blank range in traps. The eldx generally exits and the eldm does not.

Both penetrated big shouders at nearlly 3000 fps to reach the vitals and kill quickly.

I have used 143 grain eldx,120 grain GMX,and 120 grain TSX in the 6.5 Creedmoor and they are all great on deer.

The only difference is a slightly thicker jacket and a tiny "lock" on the eldx to try and keep the base of the lead core together with the jacket.

The 140 eldm creates incredible wounds. Great killing bullet.

129 gr. interlocks have been doing a good job for me.

For southeast whitetail I would have him go get some Norma Whitetail in 140 gr and kill some deer.

Same in my camp as shot from a 260 Remington, so same-same ballistics as the Creedmoor.

I've used the 129 interlock in my 264 mag and my 6.5x55 on deer; simply don't know how much better it gets. I bought some Hornady American Whitetail hunter ammo in 6.5 creed with the 129 all 3 of my creeds were moa right out of the box with it. It's good as they come.mb

120 gr. Ballistic Tips or 129 gr. Interlocks have worked well fo me.

Not sure RE: the ES states, but there are some very big deer and hogs in the South.

Been very happy w/ the Speer Grand Slam 140 gr. loaded in the 6.5x55mm, and found some Norma SE loaded Partition ammo of the same weight, on liquidation, that I'm startin' to play around w/.

For regular ole white tail?

Almost anything.

I have taken 17 whitetails with my 6.5 CM using Hdy 143 ELDX. None have traveled more that 60 feet.

Update: I shot another buck a couple weeks ago with the Creedmoor and the buck took 2 shots despite a decent hit (lung/liver). It didn't go far but I took a second shot because he was still standing. There was very little as far as a blood trail but, fortunately, he only ran about 30 yards and stopped. Once he stopped I hit him again and he went down. I also lost a buck a few years ago that I shot at 35 yards with the 6.5 Creedmoor. That is the only rifle-shot buck I have ever failed to recover. It's a small sample size but my Creedmoor was 1 for 3 in good performance for me.

I think it is like anything else in that it will kill deer but it seems to be a little bit light for my taste. I will probably give it one more try but there seems to be noticeably less killing power than my 308s, 30-06s, and 338 Federal. I would like to try it again and be really precise with the shot before I give up on it but I am starting to lean toward using it only on targets or smaller game. Personally, I wouldn't even consider it for elk since I own bigger rifles but some people use it.

I’ve been impressed with the Norma 140 grain soft points. Several deer have died at our camp this year with it.

Ive used the american whitetails in a 129 gr, taken 5 or 6 with those, 3 dropped on the spot and never moved, one went 50 or so yards with a demolished heart and the other one lost both lungs and went about 80 yards and keeled over. One anomaly, i shot 3 at one time, the all 3 went down, when we got done and went to recover them one jumped up and ran about 20 yards before crashing, repeat 2 more times before it finally didnt get back up. Eye looked glazed over and couldnt see breathing but definitely wasnt done fighting. Switched to superformance last year but dont remember what grain, think also 129 but might be 143, took a big doe last year and a 2 this year. Most shots were around 50 yards, one was about 100 and the other around 150 yards

Not a Creedmoor, but this morning from my 6.5x55. 50 yard shot. 3rd deer this year with this load.

Think more about placement and bullet choice before considering changing the chambering.

Personally, I’ve had some inconsistencies with 143 ELD-X from the Creedmoor. I’ve killed about a dozen deer with the combo and results were all over the place. All early production factory ammo from the same case. Could’ve been due to jacket thickness variations from early on?

I’ve seen everything— splashes on impact, pencil throughs, no blood trails and long runners — then perfect results on about 1/3 of my small sample size. No shots have been over 300 yards, with over half within 100 yards.

I’ve shot the factory stuff from the case of ammo I bought over the chrony and velocities were anemic. It ranged from the upper 2500’s to mid 2600’s. Couple different rifles with 22” barrels.

I’ve heard bunches of stories that mimic my results. Also heard very positive results from guys I trust. I’ll probably buy some bullets and load my own to try next year. I’ve seen/heard too many good reviews to believe there wasn’t something wrong with my early production factory ammo.

I have used both the 143 ELD-X and the Barnes 127 LRX. Both have worked well for me, but my rifle shoots the Barnes better, so that has been my go to for the last several years.

Pretty impressive, same bullet I load for my wife. My wife and daughter both killed bucks with same this year.

Partitions and TTSX shoot and work great in my CM.
