Saw this about a wrongful death suit involving Raytheon and the TWA Flight 800 disaster. Anyone with any expertise think this is possible?

It was proven how the fuel tank exploded, the problem started when the fb-lie jumped the gun and blamed it on a missle strike.

I was an Operations Specialist in the Navy from 77-81. Worked in the Combat Information Center. That's where they fired the missiles. To fire a missile it would have had to be tracked by someone like myself, and turned over to the Fire Control Techs which were usually Chiefs sitting at the console. Also, permission to fire had to be given by either the Commanding Officer or the Tactical Action Officer. These stations are normally only manned during GQ or wartime steaming. And all missiles are inventoried. Pity the Commanding Officer who comes back with less than the missiles he started out with, and wasn't on a scheduled shoot or in battle. So if it was shot down, it wasn't by USN.

They are not morons, they're former lawyers. They take care of their own so this is going to move forward so the lawyers involved can rack up billable hours in litigation.

The fb-lie initially found what was supposed to be explosive residue on the aircraft skin and blamed the crash on a missile. There was no evidence of penatration by a warhead. The aircraft sat on the ground running for an extended period. The air conditioning pack is located just above the center wing tank that wasn't full of fuel. The heat from the AC unit heated the fuel to where the vapors were highly explosive. There was a chafed wire bundle inside the tank, IIRC the wires were for the fuel quantity gage. The wiring shorted out creating sparks which ignited the fuel vapors. They actually heard static on the cockpit voice recorder that they figured came from when the wires shorted out.

That's what they came up with on the Smithsonian Channel's show "Air Disasters".

Lost my BIL on that flight. All the credible witnesses, pilots, and ex-military who saw the incident said it was a missile fired fro the ocean.

Somebody has to convince me why all those "credible witnesses" were intently watching that one flight out of hundreds that depart the New York area every day while also watching the horizon over the ocean.

TWA is defunct so they can’t get blood out of that stone. Raytheon on the other hand……..
