Russia has put itself into "position A" for the foreseeable future. Especially since they've got a new supply deal with India. Who could have possibly seen this coming.....? https://oilprice.com/Energy/Crude-O...-Biggest-Oil-Discovery-for-20-Years.html

You must have missed the point.....imagine that......
This is in line with Moscow and Beijing’s objective of keeping the West out of energy deals in Iraq to keep Baghdad closer to the new Iran-Saudi axis and to “end [the] Western (United States)dominance in the Middle East.

If only we had a 'sarc' emoji Gotcha Raeford, that was pointed to Conrad, who more often than not is on the wrong end of anything to do with energy/crude discussions. I thought your response was funny actually.

I've always been a proponent of energy independence, not wars over oil, and bringing our troops home to defend our borders, and not sticking our nose in everyone worldwide's business. If we are attacked on our soil, I think we should blow their ragheaded assses away. I just know that when the dust settles, the guy with the most oil will have control. That's the way it's always worked and always will. Just because you're too dense to understand it doesn't make it wrong.

I just received my daily snapshot from the Oil and Gas Journal noting that Brazil is joining OPEC+ January 2024. An excerpt:
"Both OPEC and the OPEC+ alliance are actively seeking new members, as the addition of alliance producers will increase the alliance's market share and thus the impact of its coordinated policies on oil supply and prices."
Conduct is the best proof of character.

We have enough resources here and in Canada to be independent from OPEC. We have the enemy in our own government that does all they can to block and increase regulation to the point that cost is too high to risk new projects. There is too much uncertainty to start new projects in the US. Keystone XL pipeline is a well known example. And it kills our country to not be in control of energy costs. Right now our enemies control the price of energy. Energy cost and certain availability is one of the foundations of an economy. It directly affects the price and costs of every thing. We have coal gas and crude available here to stabilize and control price. Enemies of our country in our own government do all they can to prevent it's use. They are the same enemies that want to take our guns, teach sexual perversion to small children in our schools, and remove our borders giving illegal aliens preference over productive citizens.

OPEC is cutting production by 2.2 million barrels a day. About half from Saudi Arabia. Won't stop the build back better miracle of economic growth though.

Not to worry, Biden and Co will demand a meeting with the Saudi's again, and the Crown Prince will tell him to shove it up his demented asss for the 3rd time. The Saudi's own Biden.

Everyone thinks the president has so much power over the oil market...laughable. OPEC has always been in control, regardless of administration, regardless of BS politics. OPEC is dedicated to maintaining a minimum $80 per barrel or better price, and Biden (nor anyone else) can't really do much about it. He will do what Trump did before him, and Obama before him, and Bush before him... When prices get high, and OPEC are being obstinate, they will stop enforcing the bans on Iranian oil. None of it will come to the US, but allowing more Iranian oil into the market will offset some of the OPEC losses. EVERY president has done this.

The Pres had enough power to stop the exploring, drilling & pipelining of our oil on our own soil to again put the US at the mercy of other countries.

Along oil and gas lines looks like OXY is going to make an offer to buyout Crownrock, a privately held energy company.
Financing would most likely come from Berkshire Hathaway as was done with OXY’s purchase of Anadafko.
