I like Vai, seen him twice and met him once after a show. That song you posted does nothing for me. He busted that guitar out at the last show. Joker knows his way around a guitar for sure, just doesn't have that groove or bluesy feel Satch has in my opinion. Passion and Warfare is an incredible album.
There's a million guitarists I'd rather listen to.
"What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives every thing its value. Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be strange indeed if so celestial an article as freedom should not be highly rated." Thomas Paine
Appreciate his ability and some of his work. In particular, "For The Love Of God" is fantastic.
He is more soulful and better to me than some non-stop shredders. I still prefer the likes of Jeff Beck any day of the week.

Who? Seriously. Never heard of him. Solo artist or what group he plays with?
Solo act with a backing band really. Was a big up and comer until he entered a contest and got his arse handed to him by Eugene Martone. Kinda went to the woodshed, got spanked and disappeared. He used to disappoint a lot of up and coming boys. Now - nothing.
This guy cuts ping pong balls up, glues the pieces onto the thumb, index finger, middle finger, and ring finger of his right hand, then shapes them into picks. He writes some good instrumentals, also. I doubt that he can do anything except play guitar. It's obviously all he's ever done in his life.
