Whatever happens, Bones are now just a rearguard option until such time as stealthy RPV's can fly ordnance to the drop point. We still need the 1s and 2s.

They fly over me every day. Cool looking bird and very loud when making low passes. The pilot that crashed one of the them in Kentucky in 1989 was one of my CHL students later on. He was able to get his crew all out, then ejected last. Thankfully they all survived. He said ejecting REALLY sucked. 🤪 IIRC, the plane or one of its wings caught on fire ? He was an B1 Lancer instructor after that, and then went to work as a simulator instructor for Boing for the B1 after he retired from the AF. Said he could get me a ride in a B1. I passed. 😬 http://www.cnn.com/US/9802/18/B1.crash.update/index.html

They fly over me every day. Cool looking bird and very loud when making low passes. Or taking off. I've been on the flight line when they're taking off, the sound is stupendous.

When I still lived in town, my house was about 4 miles from the Base. You could hear them all day and all night. All over most of the town. 🤪

We had a pilot in my ANG unit that transferred to the GA ANG unit that had B-1s. He was the first (maybe only) pilot to land one with the wings swept back. He's a great pilot.
Nobody's right if everybody's wrong. Getting into reloading to save money is like getting married for free sex.
