Please share your thoughts.
I have tested Big Game, Hunter, and Magnum with weights from 100-175gr.
My impression is favorable. Get expected velocities with consistent low standard deviation.
Anything you would care to add?

Not MD, but I've experimented with Ramshot Magnum in my 7mm Remington Mag with the 160 grain Hornady. Just running the starting load for now, but results are positive with good SD & accuracy in a bone stock M-700.

Anything you would care to add? Hunter and the 270WCF = Peas & Carrots. I've used Hunter with excellent results (accuracy, velocity, and low ES/SD) in 110, 130, and 140 projectile weights.

+1 for Hunter in the 270. What's not to like? I like TAC in the .308 as well.
Ive said before I shied away from Ramshot because of the names of their powders. They seem amateurish, almost clownish. Like I was buying Kmart brand gunpowder. Glad I overcame that and tried some.

CRS,
I mostly use Hunter in the .270 with 140-grain bullets, but Magnum also does well with 150s.

Might also mention that in my cold-testing, Hunter proved to be more sensitive than any of the other of the four original Ramshot rifle powders--TAC, Big Game, Hunter and Magnum. (The other three tend to be as stable as Hodgdon Extremes.) Whether that matters in your hunting area is another question, but Hunter still isn't as cold-sensitive as many other rifle powders, usually losing at most 100 fps from 70 degrees to zero. Whether the point-of-impact changes is the big question. Eileen has had good luck with Hunter, especially in her Ultra Light Arms rifles, which don't tend to change POI much in cold, due to the full-contact bedding of the barrel in their very stiff stocks. This elk was taken at around 20 degrees, with a 140-grain Barnes TSX in her .270 Winchester: This whitetail was a little sterner "cold test," taken at around -10 with her .257 Roberts, using an original 100-grain Barnes X:

Thank you for your insight. Good to know about the temp sensitivity with Hunter. I have some Reloder 26 (150 and 155gr) and Hunter(140gr) loads that I am going to check when/if the temps drop around here. Pushing 50 degrees here again today. My standard powder is H4831sc for this cartridge due to something you wrote many moons ago.

Gutting one at those temps must be fun.

Gutting one at those temps must be fun. Actually, it generally feels pretty good, because the inside of a deer is a lot warmer than the air!

H4831 and 130 grain Sierras are my .270 go-to, but Ramshot Hunter shoots very well with the 117 grain Hornady Interlock BTSP in my .25-06!

Have done a few in single digits to negative temps with no gloves. Brutal. Then I learned about preg testing gloves, and double gloving to make sure your hands stay dry. Highly recommended.

Not MD but I have had good accuracy and high velocities in two different 270Win bolt rifles using Barnes 129LRX and 130TTSX. I should purchase an 8lb keg... Mark&Belle
