Dale Howe, Howe Mountain Knives has crafted numerous knives for me. The latest is of Magnacut.

He sez' Magnacut is the Schizzz.

I like it!

I suggested he call it an Upswept Hunter or a Sharpfinger Magnum!

ya!

Dale makes a nice knife. I picked up a Huntsman a while ago and it is a great knife for taking apart a deer. Honestly the blade just goes where you want it to, not all knives do that. Would like one of his Wyoming Skinners and a Catfish fillet someday.

That is a badazz Sharpfinger. I am looking forward to hearing the effect dirty hog hair and hide have on it. Your porkers look like they give a knife a helluva workout!

If his magnacut is as good as his elmax, it'll be awesome.....

Mine’s in Elmax, too. Is Dale back to making knives?

Hey guys,

Thanks for the good comments. Geedubya usually has a pretty good vision for a knife. We had discussed a couple of long term projects over the years and I needed to catch up on a couple that I've owed him for quite a while. From what I've seen so far, Magnacut is really in a class of its own. Larrin definitely knew what he was doing when he developed magnacut. Its the first steel I've found which I believe truly replaces and improves on the qualities of Elmax. I'll still be doing a lot with 154 and occasionally A2, but Magnacut is truly amazing.

I've started to make a couple of knives here and there and am finally getting the shop going here in Wyoming. I'm not taking any orders, but will hopefully have a few available here and there in the future.

Dale

Speaking of a long term project.........

Now that's a choppa'

Etched A2 steel and weathered elk (which matches my Nessmuk set by Dale)

Good stuff IMHO.

It certainly favors the classic sharp finger. A softened, larger version. I dig it.

Nice blade.

looks like a fine knife. I have picked up two folders with Magnacut, and yeah, it's an impressive steel

That's sweet! It's nearly identical in design to the HFB Featherlight and matching customized Hogue Deka in magnacut I tested on my first round of culling in Scotland this last month. So far totally impressed! Next round coming...
