I saw that yesterday.

back when I was in college, there was a definite conservative movement on campuses nationwide

even with that, it was just generally accepted that a guy could stand in the middle of the quad and say the foulest most inciting crazy schit and it was just accepted as "this is college, its the extreme of freedom of speech". I remember attending chapel at college and a Iranian student jumps up and interrupts the service, spouting off some anti-American stuff that I don't recall the particulars of. He was escorted off but he wasn't kicked out, dude was in class the next day. Tolerance was very prevalent back then.

where I have a problem with it is these college leaders, especially the ones being scrutinized right now for their support of Hamas and Anti-Israel protests, would cancel the Proud Boys giving a presentation in a heart beat, because of the outcry of liberal safe space seeking students.

If you've seen my posts, I'm not a pro-Israel guy at all. but I can't imagine being a Jewish student on those campuses with that going on

Well, let's sum up. One side of the conflict is out there doing it. Some college kids are talking about it.

Congress puts it's focus on the talkers instead of the doers.

That's just about par for the course in America.

I was at the Univ of Idaho in the late 60's. By college standards, it was pretty conservative but by Idaho standards, it was growing toward radical left wing. These days, it's the center of one of only 2 blue counties in the state. Those were the days of the Vietnam protests and the Kent State shootings. There were never calls for mass killings like we see today, though.

I'd bet that a lot of wealthy Jewish donors are watching this closely and if the anti-Semitic speech is allowed to go on unchecked they will discontinue their financial support for their alma maters.

The British wanted Arab support in the war against the Ottoman Empire and promised them that independent Arab countries would be formed in the Middle East. Just as they had done with their colonies in Africa, they divided the land on maps, with little or no consideration for the alliances of the people who lived there. See the McMahon-Hussein Letters. During the same 1916-1917 time frame, the British issued the Balfour Declaration, promising British support for a Jewish Homeland in Palestine. The British Empire made promises to both sides that they may, or may not, have actually intended to honor in a effort to buy their support for the war effort. Two Brits who weren't politicians had a lot of influence over how the UK divided the lands that they controlled via Sykes-Picot, T.E. Lawrence, AKA Lawrence of Arabia, and Gertrude Bell, AKA The Queen of the Desert. British double dealing created this problem and never got to a resolution that was acceptable to both sides when they dumped the problem on the recently formed United Nations post-WW2. The British solution for Palestine looks a lot like the American solution for Afghanistan, basically saying "we're tired of dealing with this issue, so we're leaving and you can sort it out for yourselves, good luck".

I don't think it makes any difference. The colleges have billions in bank accounts. Some part time folks might lose their jobs and some "professors" might have to go back to the classroom but I doubt the colleges will feel any pain until one day guess what, the jews are back dropping money again. It's all about the prestige of having some kind of diploma from an Ivy league school. It's more about the ego. 50 years from now our grand kids will be fighting this battle again.
