I have this same Ruger 17 WSM that’s been seeing little use.

I might be moved to move it for this price.

Holy cows. A couple guys wanted this rimfire in the bad kind of way. I was watching this auction go down, wishing it was mine on the block.

$2k for the rifle, $1/rd, I'd sell it all. WSM was cheaper than HMR for a while, getting a lot of people into it.

Beaver10: I have been looking for one of these Ruger 77/17 WSM Varmint models for several years now and have yet to find one I "could afford"!
I have several friends I Hunt with that have 17 WSM Rifles and for a year or two now the 17 WSM ammo has been terribly hard to find and terribly expensive once found!
I have shot several different 17 WSM Rifles in the Varmint fields and do so want one but at that price I would have to pass.

I am not saying this alleged sale was a scam but I am saying I know of no one that would pay $2,850.00 for that Ruger - and I know a LOT of people!
Just this past spring/summer there was an exact same Rifle for sale at the gunshows in Montana and it languished on gunshow tables for months at $1,375.00 - I do not know if it ever sold.

Amen to that. I’m not certain, one way or the other, if that GB auction was legit. There was a window during 2021 that the same rifle, used, was fetching $1500 to $1700 fairly consistently.

Everything for sale at that time was absurdly overpriced in my opinion.
