They only allow one night at most locations.
You are expected to spend some money.
A winery cost us a couple hundred bucks once. It was very good wine.
If your looking for free sometimes cheap check out Boondockers welcome.
We have been host since 2012.

2nd year of being a Harvest host. Have yet to get anyone that I would not allow to stay again.
Most have been pretty interesting to chat with.
You review them and they review you- problem children get weeded out pretty fast as they should.

Very interesting... Handful near me from the link above.

If you are not actively engaging EVERY enemy you encounter... you are allowing another to fight for you... and that is cowardice... plain and simple.

I've never stayed at any of these, just read about them and felt it might be a valid option for those 'one nite' stops between target destinations.

It'd be a nifty alternative to busy Interstate rest areas or noisy truck stops, neither of which I've ever encountered a real issue with in countless overnight stays.

I don't travel on a schedule so if they don't take 'drop in's' it'd never work for me.

Cross country RV travel with a smartphone has opened some opportunities that previously weren't easily available.

Having your 'old farts card' and rec.gov can be handy but there are just far too many free opportunities in prime locations to consider actually paying to camp in your own RV.

Quit that years ago.

Too many communities passed local ordinances forbidding RVs to overnight in those Walmart parking lots.

Walmart don't give a schit but you never know when the local cops are gonna come knockin on the door at 2am and give ya the boot.

Last time I did that was in Santa Fe.

There is a concrete wall separating the parking lot from a apartment complex, I'd backed in against the wall way out in the lot.

Cops showed up at about midnight and woke me up.
Told me I needed to pull out away from that wall cause the local hooligans regularly tossed rocks over the wall trying to bust out RV windows..

Ya just never know.
