Is this a SuperX1 Trap or has the barrel been replaced with a 30" trap barrel? Most SX1 trap stocks were Monte Carlo, thus my reason for asking. Do you know if the stock has been cut or is it original length of pull? Is the magazine tube stainless or not? Has the bolt buffer been replaced recently?
Very nice gun.
Thanks, Gene

Yes, I was pretty sure they did make them with straight trap stocks...I just never saw any on the SX1's that I was around. I probably could have worded my post a little different...just wanting to verify that this is indeed a SX1 trap model and not a skeet or field model with a 30" full trap barrel. Thanks for posting and verifying that they did indeed make the trap model with a non monte carlo stock. Gene

I THINK that the engraving on the receiver suggests that it is not a field grade. At least my field grade has a plain receiver.

Very nice gun.
Thanks, Gene I’m almost certain it is all original. The guy I bought it from, bought it new and said he never modified it. He never shot this gun any appreciable amount as he was an O/U fan. The magazine tube looks like it’s stainless. It’s bare metal and not blued or patina’s. The buffer was replaced about 10 years ago by a SX1 afficionado/gunsmith. It’s still intact.

You wouldn't happen to have the box for it?

Clearly a trap model as evidenced by the beavertail forearm, figured wood and engraving. I have its twin (with box luckily) and its a fine shotgun. I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again, nor would I hesitate to buy this gun if I were in the market.

That's the same stock and forearm wood as the skeet model which had the same high straight comb. Very nice SX1 with a super price.

Definitely nicer wood and engraved receiver which my Super X 1 doesn't have. These shotguns are tanks and the buffers are readily available and easy to change. Glws

I would consider a trade for a Remington 11-87 Premier with Light Contour barrel.
