Anybody know who actually MAKES the Weatherby "Orion" line of doubles?
Was Mike Armstrong. Got logged off; couldn't log back on. RE-registered my old call sign, Mesa. FNG. Again. Mike Armstrong

I believe it is Turkey now. SKB in Japan started them and made them for quite a while. In between and briefly they were done in Italy... not sure if it was one of the Rizzinis or Fausti... thinking it was the latter.

Friend has a beautiful one made by SKB. Think I would steer clear of the Turk ones.

I and several friends have the over/unders made by the same group of Turks. The work is first class & we have used them hard, without fail. Weatherby is staying on Top of things !! I may buy a Side by Side, though I'm getting old, Oh Well !!

Been looking at SxSs myself. Won’t buy one online because I want to check it over in person. Should be solid since it’s a simple double-trigger piece with extractors. Only real question remains the barrel convergence. My CZ O/U was a dud in that regard. Those are Huglus, and I’ll buy no more.
What fresh Hell is this?

I bought the Orion hunter in 20 ga last year. It is still a bit stiff opening but it has only about 500 rounds through it. As to POI, top barrel prints right over the bottom barrel on the pattern board at 30 yds. Could not ask for any improvement in that regard.
