This is just the opposite of what I've been hearing for a long time. This article says that of WA residents fleeing the blue state, 62% are registering as R's and only 12% as D's.
Of those coming from CA, 75% are registering as R's and only 10% as D's.
The numbers coming from OR are about the same - 65% registering as Rs's and 14% as D's.

Idaho is already one of the reddest states in the country and one of the fastest growing. Most of the immigrants are from far left states where life has become untenable with liberal laws and policies.

Sad part is, the growth will ultimately destroy the state with urbanization. At least that’s what is happening down here. We are are losing massive amounts of our rural land to transients. It is beyond disgusting.

Large cities are cesspools. Concrete everywhere except maybe an occasional park. People packed in like sardines. No back yards to enjoy in season. That is why people fled to the suburbs. Then the big city follows. High crime, dirty, etc. Small towns and rural areas are nicer. Of course certain types of people can bring down a neighborhood.

First of all, I suspect the MSM is distorting the truth trying to make this influx more acceptable to the residents already there. They are under no obligation to report truthfully or accurately. Secondly I suspect those moving into the state are less conservative than those already living there so the needle will move left. They consider themselves conservative compared to where they came from which is off the chart liberal.

Same here in Colorado and it is now a blue state.

They say they are conservative, even think they are conservative, but are only conservative when compared to rabid Seattle or Portland leftists.
They may register as R's but the votes tell the tale.
And with every "conservative" male comes a bleeding heart wife and city kids that will be socialist voters in a few years.

Idaho has 2 blue voting counties. One is Blaine which is Ketchum-Sun Valley, Idaho's CA refuge. It's very small, thank goodness, with only about 20k people. The other is Latah country, home of the very liberal Univ of Idaho. It's pretty small too, about 40k.
Boise, Ada county, has been red in the last 3 elections and the % of red votes has remained fairly constant. There's a handful of blue precincts that have voted for Obama, Clinton, and Biden but outside of that, it's been a steady red. Boise isn't big enough yet to control the state like the big cities that control many other western states.
In the Idaho house, R's outnumber D's 59 to 11. In the senate, the R's dominate 28 to 7. The governor is also an R. The last time Idaho voted blue for president was for Lyndon Johnson, to our disgrace.

I kinda doubt either one of you know any liberal leaning immigrants in Idaho.
I know four families from Jefferson State that moved to Idaho over the last 15 years...staunch conservatives, one a very close friend moved to legally maintain his hobby as a class three machine gun collector. Another, a forester took a good job up in St Maries.
Another is a large animal vet in Jerome. My owner operator son in law moved there because his truck is no longer legal in California. None of my friends moved to schidthole Treasure Valley, which is actually a northern province of Mexico. No habla Ingles.

Where are all those blue votes? Ada county hasn't voted blue since Lyndon Johnson. They've been steady at a bit over 50% red until 2020 when Trump beat Biden by almost 2 to 1. There are just a few precincts in Ada country that vote blue and they haven't carried anything.

And they bring the Liberal Hellhole with them

Boise has a Democrat mayor who just won re-election to a second term. Meridian, the next largest city just to the west but still in Ada county, has a Republican mayor as does Kuna to the south.

Ada county provides the most economic opportunity by far so that's where folks settle; that's the sole reason I had to move here 20 years ago from rural Payette County - not a lot of jobs for programmers there. From what I understand, the conservative immigrants (define however your hearts feel best) coming in from out of state find Boise way too liberal and look to Meridian or other small towns in Ada or Canyon county to live, so Boise becomes a big blue stain in the middle of the county.
