While checking cows my wife fell and broke her humerus and dislocated her shoulder. There's no rooms available so we're just sitting in the ER patiently waiting.....well sort of. There's 5 whites, 3 illegals and 21 blacks waiting with us.

Damn...

Hope she doesn't have to wait much longer.

If it’s like here, the ER is filled up with 50 wetbacks waiting to get free treatment for a cold.

mother in law went to ER two weeks or so back. Kaiser in the bay area. She was a long term Kaiser member and had even worked there for awhile. She ended up spending 2 & 1/2 very sick days in an ER bed because they were doing some "remodeling" and had no beds on a ward. Kaiser had a $2.1 Billion dollar profit in the second quarter of 2023.

Having spent enough time in ERs, I can't imagine what 60+ hrs in one would be like, especially at 86 years old. They never mentioned her not being capable of withstanding a move to one of their many other facilities in the Bay Area.

I’m sorry to hear about your wife’s misfortune and wish her a quick recovery. Is the ER your only option or can you go to a clinic?

Maybe get them to at least do a blood draw, get a line in her vein, hang some fluids and then some pain meds in the girl.

My visit to the ER i asked them at the triage station to do the above when i saw the ER was stacked with people.

What's it like being one of the few there with insurance? Any time I go to an ER, it is obvious to me, most there are getting a free ride.

We have regions within the state where the emergency rooms are pretty descent, and we have areas where they are a total mess. I was stuck in a pretty bad one about a year and a half ago. Groids were in there faking illnesses to get out of the summer heat. They were taking turns giving the hospital staff a hard time, just for the fun and trying to out do each other. Despite the condition that I was in, I was seriously contemplating beating the crap out of one of them. My patience with the BS was really running low. It is a ridiculous situation. The ER in the next town over is always full of Mexicans.
