Nice old car. I wonder if it was black originally. Ford sure had goofy looking distributors back then.

Buddy has one. He, his wife and grandson drove it from near Toronto to Michigan for the 100 anniversary of Ford.

16" spoke wheels from a mid-1930's Ford- - - -1928 and 29 had 21" wheels with SKINNY tires originally. 1930 and 31 switched to 19" wheels. Looks good anyway, as the swap to smaller wheels was done pretty frequently.

It needs a few mods including a 354 Hemi and a tunnel ram.

With all the hot-rodding going on in the 50's, it's unbelievable that one still exists in original condition.

I repainted a 29 Cabraly black, and rode in the rumble seat at our Homecoming paraded.

It is a 1931 body, or at least the firewall and cowl. It has a indented firewall, notice in first pic on right side of firewall gas shutoff is outside on the firewall. From 28 till early 31 it was under the dash in the passenger compartment. The radiator shell looks like a 1930 as a 31 had kind of a insert that was body color behind the blue oval. Ford made a lot of Model A's and people would do anything to keep them going without regard to originality and for the most part all year's would fit the other's. I love seeing your pic's from your fathers shop and he is a true craftsmen and not a lot like him left.

Yep!
The cowl was different on the 28-29.
That is a 30-31. Marlinshooter knows his stuff!

If it is a 1932, then it is a Little Deuce Coupe.

That aftermarket exhaust manifold heater needs a hole in the firewall and a flexible duct to work, but putting engine compartment fumes into the car was not really a good idea. Even a slight exhaust leak could be deadly.

Beautiful car. Don't care for the color combo, but it's not my car.

Nice old car. I wonder if it was black originally. Ford sure had goofy looking distributors back then. When his managers told Henry Ford his customers were asking for other colors besides black, Ford told his people the customers could have any color they wanted as long as it was black.
