got gun out have had it five years did not know what i have has lyman 20 power scope on it anyone have info on it

It sounds like it's a Savage model 1920 in 250-3000 with a Lyman 20X scope on it.

Could be a 1920 or a later, more robust 20/26. It’s a shame about the scope as they were not factory drilled and tapped for one.

The shop I worked at when I was a kid had one once in 300 Savage, nice rifle. Never see many for sale.
A bowhunter at heart but a gun guy at soul. I'll take craftsmanship, wood and blue steel over plastic and composite any day.

Recently I purchased a .250-3000 that had been stocked by Griffin & Howe and had a G & H mount with Lyman Alaskan. Got it from an auction house, neither the auction house nor the other bidders recognized it as a G & H. OTD price with auction premium and shipping was $940.00, sold it here on the Forum for $2,500.00.
