That’s the way I’m leaning. Should I use slick round bar or a piece of 3/4 rebar? I’ve seen fire pits with rebar and thought they looked good. Boss lady said round, so we go round, liked slick round bar idea also

I'm envious of your skills. Agreed, mad skills. I wished I had learned welding from my dad. Dude could weld BB's together.. I'm thinking you could add a "drawer" to that thing at least the size to put a spatchcock chicken in there. By the time a good six-pack or pint of bourbon is finished you could have a meal done. That way you are not out drinking by the fire anymore, you would be out there cooking.

We have a piece of 36 or 40" about 10" high, with the flange on it.
Cost me a case of Budlight about 3 years ago!
Ours is really fancy, it sits on 4 rocks to let air under it.
Parents who say they have good kids..Usually don't!

There is a guy around here that sells cut sections from old steel boilers for firepits. Some have lift rings or bolt flanges already welded on. Buddy got two, Gawdawful heavy!
That is a beauty! Do you blacken? Or just let it rust brown?
