Had the little wire that runs from the back of the ear part into the ear (receiver) break on the right side. Figured I could get one online and replace it, but was going to Costco anyway. I took it to the hearing aid counter and the young lady told me, “We’re not supposed to replace receivers if they’re out of warranty.” I told her they were out of warranty, before I could tell her I’d be glad to pay for one and replace it myself she interrupted me with, “But I think I have a few extra ones back here.”
I got the stuff I’d gone in for and returned to the hearing aid department ten minutes later and she had it all ready. No charge.
Several months ago, I went in because they didn’t seem to be working well. Another young woman cleaned them up, showed me a couple of things to do to avoid the problem in the future and gave me a set of protective covers to keep dirt, sweat and other crud out of them, all no charge and, again, way past warranty.
Just a little credit where credit is due.

I read that they also have just gotten in new models with even better properties.

Mine are out of warranty almost a year. The prices have came down and they no longer sell the battery version, only the rechargeables. The price for the rechargeable are now what I paid for the battery type. I want to buy a new set, just can't come off the hip with $1600 right now. The old ones work still. You can buy similar ones online for about half but Costco's service is so great, I'm still leaning on paying more for their service.

Nice. My wife and I will be heading there after the holidays for exams and purchase.

Harbor Freight had some on sale a while back for $11.00 For warranty work, you send your ears to Wuhan. I had my previous pair for 8 years. Costco was still willing to work on them but parts were no longer available. There are advantages both ways with battery vs rechargeables. Mine are rechargeable. I got the battery pack for the charger that will charge them about 5 times before having to be plugged in again. That was well worth it. If needed, I can charge the battery pack from a car battery, solar, any other 12v source, or from a cell phone power pack.

Went to an ENT and paid for a good set. They have done things for no charge for three years since. I had some concerns other than hearing loss, thus the doctor's involvement. Many insurance companies pay for them new every other year. RZ.
