Ha, we got you beat.

1 flashing red light in just about 4000 sq mi!

But, one of the local groceries in town has 8-9 chargers in the lot, I've only seen one at most in use.

No traffic lights. No charger.
4020 square miles.

The first one I ever saw was behind a Sheetz in VA. Nobody there, but that was a couple years back.

Read a couple weeks ago that the material used to make one EV car can make 90 hybrid batteries. If I ever need another car, I’ll consider a hybrid, which is mature technology now. EVs remain a stunt, if not a scam.

There is a travel stop in Flatonia, Tx. off I-10 that has some and they've been full up every time I've stopped there. Always a bunch of Democrats walking around the parking lot, wringing they're hands and crying about how long it's taking to charge up they're hippy cars.

You sure got the Hippy part right. There is but one admitted liberal democrat on my block & they own an electric vehicle. They still go to concerts and smoke pot regularly at age 68.

Flatonia is not the safest layover.

If the automotive market ever pulls their head out of their arse and builds a diesel-electric car/truck other than a train it'd be a efficient stepping stone, but until then...

I always try to use Maverick as well. Price of fuel is usually pretty good.

I was recently in Sheridan Wy and the 5 Tesla chargers at the BW were always open.

Maybe pass that around to the poor souls waiting in line.

Charging station a few blocks from my house, I see Teslas charging at home also. A hybrid jeep ran out of gas up the highway couple weeks ago.

What I've noticed is people look nervous waiting during charge time, maybe vulnerable stuck in vehicle in totally unfamiliar place.

I have pulled in to five or six charging stations in my brother's Tesla. I have never seen one that is full.

I don't have any reason to hate on electric vehicles. My only criticism is for the politicians trying to push a "one size fits all" approach and pushing for 100% electric by year 20xx. I think it's extremely short sighted and impractical for much of America, both suburban and rural.

For my wife and her little local bubble, an electric vehicle would probably be a great option that fits her needs perfectly. Or maybe, more practically, a plug-in hybrid, so we could also take it on longer trips if needed.

For me, hauling trailers, going off-road and hauling gear and equipment, I'll stick with the F250 stroker.

The Tesla is a great car for short trips. In this weather, running that heater, your range is 150 miles. I wired up a home charging station for my brother, he charges at night in his garage.

The Tesla is no good for long trips.

We're going to Georgia for Christmas, a 210 mile trip, and he insists on driving that Tesla. We will have to stop on the way down, for a 35 minute "fill up" and stop again on the way back. In my Nissan Frontier, I would stop just one time and the fill up takes five minutes.

I picked up a night shift job shoveling coal into the furnace that runs the turbine that feeds the charging station... Those faces are all that I have to look at on my smoke break since the cars are sucking up all the juice meaning I can't keep my phone charged and the boss used my December "Sports Afield to light the furnace after it went out cause Santa took all my coal to put in your stocking...

GFY.
And Happy New Year!
