Do they have a huntable population? In most zones yes. Hes put in every year so far for this zone but never got drawn. He keeps tryin tho! I never put in...I figure if I do and got drawn when he hasnt after all this time....he'd disown me 😅 Used to go to the Denton Hills archery shoots back in the 90s and remember talking elk with the F&G guy there at the trailer they had set up. This was back when they HOPED there would be a huntable population some day. Looks like the plan is working, albeit, the 90s was a good while back. Got em coming on pretty strong in Kentucky on the Kentucky/Virginia border too.

Had no idea there was Elk like that in Pa. Damn! PAGC puts up a web cam every year on a food plot near the visitors center. This one had my attention a couple years ago. I wonder if he ever got killed. ![[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]](https://i.postimg.cc/9Fh63tw3/Elk1-1.png)

This'n was shot less than 1/4 mile from "camp" where dad lives either this year or last, cant remember. I lived west of Denton Hill in Coudersport for 4 yrs. Back then(2002) it was rare to see elk at camp...that zone was no hunting. Now tho they are plentiful. Doesnt take too long.

Historically Elk were east of the Mississippi River! As also Bison! Intrusion by humans pushed them westward!!
Even birds know not to land downwind!

Nice, do they cause many problems by eating stuff the locals don't want elk to eat? Not many locals around. 3 state forest run together there.

Good Lord, some of those elk have massive horns. Location - in the east - most likely helped by ample limestone in the soil.
