Vista Outdoors says that ammo prices will spike due to a World Wide Shortage of powder.

“Vice President of Sales Brett Nelson stated, “Due to world events, our suppliers have notified us of unprecedented demand for and an anticipated global shortage of gunpowder, and thus has increased our prices substantially.”

Hoard Away, it’s the only Way.

And those soaring prices will surely make us sore.

The swamp will suck up enough munitions starting various wars around the world that retail ammunition and reloading components will become just like copper during WWII. Spot shortages over the past decade will soon look like the "Horn of Plenty"...

so are ya saying I should stock up now on those $110/1000 Rem 7 1/2 primers that I found locally? Or the 8# Varget priced at $460 too?

Here I was hoping prices might come down in time. Dang it

I cant figure out this powder shortage. one thing is the US is going backwards and entering 3rd world status. after WWII bruce hodgdon found out US was dumping 100's of tons of surplus powder in the ocean. he contacted many people and was able to get 50,000 lbs of powder at 4 cents a lb and started his business selling a lb of 4895 for 75 cents. all told he bought 4.5 million lbs of surplus. now this was after WWII where millions of lbs of powder were burned a year and that was all excess and he didnt buy it all much was still dumped. WTF has happened to this country?

Scooter the college dropout cashier at Bass Pro will be bogarting all the Blazer 9mm shipments and reselling on Gunbroker for 45 dollars a box.

Retired guys will be lining up to kiss Scooter's ass for a box of Mini Mags.

Just checked ammoseek and Aguila .22LR is going for 2.5 cents per round, that's the lowest I've seen any .22 ammo in years. Good 9mm ammo, S&B, can be had for 18 cents per round - $9.02 per box of 50.

How many times is this going to be posted? I keep panic buying every time geezers post this and I'll have to build another new ammo shelf unit. Knock it off.

My reloading stash is making better fiscal gains than my stock account.

Obviously, ammo prices are not a component in the derivation of inflation rates.
