I have a winchester xpr compact/youth model. Bought the rings/bases for it and only fired about 5x. I could probably part with it if that is something you are interested in. Bought it for a handy truck gun for coyotes but obviously haven’t used it!

I use a Ruger Amercian in .243 Win. and is a compact with an 18" ? barrel. I use it for deer in very thick cattail marshes . It is very handy in a tree , , is light and accurate enough for me. I dont think it would make a long range gun though.

Our local Sportsmans Warehouse has a .243 Ruger compact on the shelf right now if that interests you. I bought their 7-08 last week. I think it's $479 in the store and $499 if you order it.

I have a regular Savage 110F. I believe it's from the 80's. It's not original to the gun, but it has one of those rifle/scope optic combos. A modern rebadged Bushnell 3-9.
$400 Delivered to your FFL.

The cva youth 243s are awesome. My 10 year old grandson shot a button buck with one while sitting with me last week. I like them so much I have been thinking about getting one for myself.

Your post says youth .243 bolt...any chance you are looking for a Muddy Girl Pink Camo version...Savage Axis, not Accu-trigger, 12 1/2" LOP, with rings no scope...$350 to your FFL, I could add a 3-9X40 matte black scope(rifle/combo set up) for $35 more. Matching Pink CAMO soft case included.

I think that is a misprint. I believe the Compact is a 13" LOP and the standard stock is 14". I have one of each and the Compact is notably shorter, but still useable by somebody about 5'9'' or shorter.
A picatinny rail is often a good idea on a youth rifle for optimum ring placement.

Based on the structure of the butt stock, is it possible to shorten even more?

Likely not if you want to reuse the factory pad. If you intended to cut and install a hardwood puck after trimming off a bit more stock, you could likely fit a new grind-to-fit pad that way, just like shortening nearly any other polymer stock.
If you do not want to fool with all that, I'd lean toward a 700 SPS Youth, as the LOP can go shorter right out of the box ( I think 12.5"). You can also add the factory spacers until the kid grows to need a full-size stock. We still have the youth stock and spacers on my daughter's 700 7mm-08 and she's now about 5'9". Resulting LOP is a shade under 13" but handy in hunting clothes.
