I started out with my new to me this year K1A Ruger No.1 in 250 Savage but wound up getting my PA buck on the second day with a Marlin 444XLR in a straight wall/shotgun area. The Ruger will have to wait another year.

I popped another doe for the freezer this week with my little CVA Scout 7mm-08. Hard not to pick up this rifle when I'm headed to a spot where the range is going to be less than 250yds. My buddy was hunting about 1000yds away and never even knew I'd fired (YHM R2 suppressor). He thought I was kidding when I texted him.

I’m sorely tempted to thread mine and suppress it.

It has rapidly turned into my favorite blind and ladder stand rifle.

You likely already know, but a hunting can is a bit of a gamechanger. I still have rifles that don't wear cans, but they don't see as much use as the ones that do. Putting one on a short barreled single shot just made good sense to me, as the overall package remains carbine-length.

I was shooting a suppressed AR10 yesterday and one of my neighbors was standing by the bench with his muffs on. After the first shot, he took them off. I shot again and he asked, "Tell me again what caliber this rifle is?". I told him it was a .308. He said, "Bullshitt...". Then after a pause, he pointed at the suppressor and said, "Well now I've got to get myself one of those." grin
