I find myself in need of a new Curado reel, who is your go-to for best prices on Shimano reels?

Thanks

I could be wrong but IME the higher end Shimano reel prices don't vary much.

I don't know if it's the best price but I buy everything thru TackleWarehouse. Shimano stuff don't go on sale often.

Had a guy I got lots of good stuff from for a long time. But they sent him to prison so ended that line! :-) I had a couple Shimano reels years ago, a 100 and a 300. 100 was a great reel but the 300 I threw away. Thing about Shimano reels is they got a great reputation and people that never owned one before are happy to find one they can afford even though they haven't a clue how good it may be. These days I'm a round reel fan and much as I like my ABU's they have become pretty much out of my price range. I have a Daiwa low profile and it works very well for me and have two low profile Kastkings that also work well. Only use them on bullheads and small mouth bass. For that, no complaints with any of them, they are as good as my old mod 100 Shimano!

The only time I've found a deal on a Curado is when they are bringing out a new model.
Then Shimano will let the dealers discount the old models.
You might check Ebay for a good used one at a lower price.

I have a DC I purchased a few years ago. I looked everywhere and the best price I found was on eBay. It was only $10 cheaper than the big-name shops but free shipping.

Since then I have purchased some high-end Shimanos from the Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) in Japan. The savings are significant but there is no warranty. The good part Shimano reels seldom need a warranty. And shipping from Japan was incredibly fast. Usually 4 or 5 days.

Midway had the Curado DC as an open box special last year. I picked up 4 of them for around $150/reel in various gear ratio

That's the best/lowest by a lot that I've heard of. Congrats.

Shimano almost never goes on sale/discount, so when I saw them at Midway, I bought all the fun money fund would allow.

If you are close enough to Knoxville Tn, the fishing expo has great prices. Dad and I bought some curado dc for 200 and several curado k for 140. All new in the box and any gear ratio you wanted.

I've bought Shimano reels at a huge discount from this place. Call them. They might not have one listed on the site. Some prices are too low to advertise. I've bought Costa sunglasses from them at half the price of other places. They don't advertise those prices either. I've dealt with them a bunch and they don't sell counterfeits.
