Nicest Gordon I ever saw, in fact the first that got my attention was one owned by Janet Grunbok in Washington. I don't know that she's still around but worth looking into. Whitethorn Farm. Can't remember this guys name. Retired AF lives in Boise, Idaho. Only other Gordons I'd ever seen I'd give a serious look at. Go to North West Field Trial Council on Facebook and ask about the guy with Gordons from Boise and someone should know him. He had a couple young dog's that blew my mind! [Linked Image]

Gordons can be great hunting dogs with good breeding and training.
Get one raised in the area you plan on hunting because the breeder will know that type of bird hunting.
Gordons have a big problem with burs. Not a problem if you clip them in the fall.
When the tailgate drops the BS stops.

My cousin had one, lived to be 14 yrs old. Pretty good bird dog. She seemed to be kind of unattached even with him. Wasn't close & not really affectionet at all. Also didn't listen to good, but I don't think he was the problem, I think his wife mite have been the reason??? Very beautifull on point!!! I think he used hair conditioner & it helped with the burrs. GWP. πΎπ£πΎπ£π¨π¦

If you should chose one be sure its from a field trial breeding. I often help with members using Gordon's that while beautiful, with show titles, are less than ideal in the field IMHO. BTW for burrs: COWBOY MAGIC! Works wonders on my Griff.

I HAVE had 4 of them you cant find a better friend or more loyal companion they are also great in the field. You can now find a blend of field and show but as was said I would look for a field bred pup.

Hunted over a Gordon back in the 60's. She was classy and loveable. She never met anyody she didn't like. Mane and Tail at TSC, works like Teflon on Gavin, my burr magnet Brit. Bfly
Be nice and work hard, you never have enough time or friends.

Not at this time. I am researching dogs for the future. Currently have a 10 year lab female. It would be a disaster to bring another dog in now. MTG

The more I get to know people, the better I like dogs, life is short, eat dessert first.
