It has a 26in stainless fluted barrel. 7mm mag. Looks to have a black web HS stock. I bought it used and don't have a box. Is it a Sendero or a diff model Remington? Thinking od selling but not sure what model it is. Thanks
Kcc: I concur it is indeed a Sendero. These are popular amongst Elk Hunters here in Montana let me know if you decide on a price and I will try to sell it for you. Hold into the wind VarmintGuy
I can’t tell for sure in the picture; is the stock just black or does it have a web pattern? A Sendero should have a web pattern stock and stainless sling studs.
I thought the early blued non-fluted Senderos were "Gen 1" ? Not arguing just asking,
The blued non-fluted were first, then the stainless fluted (SF) was released. Remington stopped making them for a while, then introduced the Sendero SF II.

Gotcha, they also made a blued fluted model, I had one in 7mag.

Timl: I have an early (blued, non-fluted, 26" heavy barrel) Remington 700 Sendero in caliber 270 Winchester. I have owned it for over 20 years and have harvested NUMEROUS Mule Deer, Whitetailed Deer and Antelope with it. Its accuracy is VERY commendable and very consistent year to year. My 270 Winchester Sendero has a Leupold 6.5x20x40m/m (with 30m/m tube!).
Oh how I wish Big Green had not destroyed itself!
I do NOT wish to cause ANY controversy but I distinctly remember buying a Remington 700 "Sendero" in caliber 220 Swift back in 2,002! It is factory stock and built on the "short action". This Rifle has the blued, non-fluted heavy barrel and it is also VERY accurate. I still use this 220 Swift Sendero on special occasions. My memory is bolstered by the page in my "Loading Log Book" (by MTM) I started for this Rifle back in 2,002 - in the Rifle model area of the page, I filled in back then, I entered Remington 700 "Sendero 220 Swift". So I also contend that NOT ALL Senderos were/are "long action" guns. Hold into the wind VarmintGuy P.S.: "Come Back, Big Green, Come Back!
I have one of those as well VG, Probably the most consistently accurate rifle I've ever owned. Shoots well under an inch with Greenbox Corelokts. (That .43" on this target is edge to edge btw). I tinkered with some 110gr FB Sierras and I'd probably be called a liar on here if I told how good they grouped, Amazing rifle. Anyone who says a .270 won't shoot, Bring it.

Brokenarrow: Indeed YOU have that Remington 700 Sendero "dialed in"! Good for you. I also use the wonderful (let me repeat, WONDERFUL!) 130 grain Nosler Ballistic Tips in my 270 Sendero. I was on a "mostly" Mule Deer Hunting trip some years ago up in the Missouri Breaks and kill't a 6x6 Bull Elk with this Rifle and one shot (heart/lungs) using the 130 NBT's. Which scope do you have on your Sendero? Again good for you and great shooting there! Long live the 270 Winchester. Hold into the wind VarmintGuy P.S.: According to my loading log once I got "load development" done and I settled on the 130 grain Nosler Ballistic Tips I only shoot it for sight-in verification each year that I'm going to be using it. Every year I "test" it I am impressed. Decades ago I was "humbled" by a Hunting friend of mine. I was braggin about a then brand new Ruger #1-B in 6m/m Remington I owned (serial number 1,300!) and my friend challenged me to a shoot-out. He had a pre-64 Winchester Model 70 in caliber 270 Winchester. He was shooting the Sierra 90 grain bullets and his five shot group at 200 yards was a stunner - humbled my grouping that was just above 1". I have always wanted to try those light-weight 90 grain bullets in one of my 270's but have never gotten around to it. I am happy your Sendero also shoots the 110 grain Sierras so well.
VG: Mine wears a Vortex Viper 6x24x50, iirc it’s a PST, it’s been a good scope, I’ve never had an issue with it. Nearly every rifle that I’ve ever owned will throw the occasional unexplained flyer. Not this one, if I do my part it’s consistently the proverbial one ragged hole rifle. I guess that’s why you rarely ever see them up for sale, they’re keepers. You should try the 110 Sierras, I’ve had several .270s and they all shot them very well. Best accuracy for me is at 1 1/2 to 2gr below listed max. At 100yds from the bench the Sendero will put them in one little oval shaped hole and under 1/2” at 200.
