7x42 glasses are really superior performers as they are brighter according to the Optic Formula Rule. I’ve had so many glasses with higher magnification and larger objective lenses but my old Leitz 7x42 armored glasses are truly the best. Fact is the 7x42 is brighter because the exit pupil is large allowing more light to the ocular lens and wider field of view.
