I have been in my gun room most of the day today thinking and figuring out a great dilemma / opprotunity . my son and my son inlaw and a young man my wife and I raised have been on me trying to buy a 99 of any sorts . they have all gotten worked up about needing a 99 . probably because of my pushing my interest on them when were all target shooting and just shootin the bull . so I have dug out the rifle that each of the guys have consitantly shown a great interest in. given the guns a good cleaning inside and out and got all the history , papers and notes to go along with each rifle . gathered up 200 rounds of ammo for each of them and made ready to present them to them saturday night when we have our christmas . feels good to plant the seeds of savage 99s within them but opens a hole in my 99s. lol I told my wife it was time to start the 99 hunting season . lol
teach your children well , ride hard, shoot straight, be involved!

I'm not at that point yet and my kids don't want them, except Gary. I'm thinking about taking 1 a year to Joes Rendezvous. I hope it's still going strong in 10-15 years.

I would give them the ammo first and let them ponder the reason why. Bring out the rifles after all the other presents are opened and things settle down. We need photos of the looks on their faces!
