On the Mike Bellm site there is an article about 30 cal wildcats in the contender. It discusses the 30 Bowers Alaskan among others. There are a number of good wildcat aritcles on that site although I'm not sure about other references to the Bowers offerings.

thanks jim.i had heard about the bowers wildcats being used by the enventor to make some unbeleivable long range target hits with accuracy that many could not believe.what caught my eye was the praise that the 7/30 waters recieved.thanks again.

Halfmoon, I have a 7mm Super Bower. It is based on an Improved 307 Win necked down to 7mm. I use this cartridge in a rechambered 7-30 Waters T/C Super 14. Currently I use Nosler 120 bts for Varmits and 139 Hornady SPs for deer. Both bullets average under an 1" with their preferred load. The 120 BTs go 2450 fps @ 75 degrees, while the 139 SPs clock out at 2390 fps @ 55 degrees. The load data I have suggest you can load higher but these two loads do what I need. This round has allowed me to take some of my longest shots in the field - a woodchuck @ 320 yards with the BT and a whitetail doe at 225 yards. If you choose to go with one of the Bower cartridges you will have made an excellent choice....Good Shooting...RW
