Too bad that Burris dropped the 2-7X version. No kidding. Wish I’d have bought 10 of them when they were closing them out

What's the difference in this one and the FFII?

The E1s have a separate focus eye-piece. The FFII you focus by turning the whole ocular bell.
I've owned a number of E1s. They had good glass and etched reticles. But there some disparity in them. On some, I could turn the power ring with a finger. On others, it was so tight I thought I would twist the scope in the rings trying to move it. Same with the ocular focus. In the end, I sold them all. I still have a 2-7X that I tried on a springer air gun. That pretty much ruined it. It won't even hold zero now on a .22 auto for more than 10 rounds or so. I just wanders off zero.

The description says it’s the etched reticle. If that’s the case, it is MUCH smaller than what is shown in the ad. The etched reticle actually only takes up about 1/3 of the view, and is damned near useless in dark environments/heavy cover. Just a warning… This is what it REALLY looks like: https://www.burrisoptics.com/reticles/ballistic-plex-e1

This one ties with the leupold wide duplex for my most hated reticle.

I agree, I had one of those and ended up selling it off due to that reticle.

I have no trouble ignoring the extra bits on that reticle. Those scopes are reliable and the glass is decent. I found the 4.5-14 a bit dim in the shadows at full magnification, but this one should be fine.
Thanks for the tip.

I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA
