Speaking of fauxi I read an article in the last year or so alluding to CWD actually having been created in a lab maybe in Colorado, then of course it got away from there?
Am I wrong or did anyone else see that story?

It's related to the "Mad Cow Disease" that we haven't seen for a lot of years now. And yes, humans can get it if they eat the brains or spinal cord.

I could wish a lot of things on my worst enemy but neuropathy ain't one of them.

Our departed friend mudhen and I chatted quite a bit about the CWD issues associated with activities at Colorado State U quite a while back, but there was never any mention or suggstion that it was "created" there. Had to do with captive game.

That's what happened to Rachel Madow and a lot of her colleagues .

I've heard similar things with Lyme disease, I would not put anything past the powers that be

I suppose if you spend your time on a hunting forum only posting Janet Yellen updates then yes you may be one of the dolts that have yet to discover CWD

It shapes opening day, bag limits and extended hunt sessions.

Not to create thread drift but the head of the CDC just said with new COVID variant out there people should stay home for Christmas and not travel. Anything to knock Christianity I guess? I mean nothing was said about Kwanza.

The causitive agent of Scrapies (sheep), Mad-Cow (cattle), CWD (cervids) and Jacob-Crutcfield (humans) is believed to be "Prions", an agent even more primitive than virus.

They are oddly-folded proteins that clog up the brain.

The prions that cause CWD (and scrapies) are formed from two proteins that rarely occur in-sequence in humans so the odds of CWD infecting is astronomically low. All of which sounds reassuring until you realize that the prions exist in astronomically large numbers in infected animals.

The proteins that form prions are highly resistant to the enzymes that normally break down proteins into their constituent amino acids which then get recycled in the body. That may be why they collect: they are invisible to the normal recycling mechanisms in the body and in bacteria.

The prions have been demonstrated to be spread via saliva and scrapes-and-licking-sticks may be a major factor in the rapid spread of CWD and why it infects such a large percentage of the population since both does and bucks use licking-sticks. It can also spread through the mother's milk to fawns.

It will spread to not only humans but every other mammal on the planet , cept the Timber Wolf, if we don’t get Global Warming in check.

We need to ban meat, gas powered cars, power plants, Trump, air travel, gas stoves, logging, dams and elections, or we are all gunna die and soon.

Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Give a man a welfare check, a forty ounce malt liquor, a crack pipe, an Obama phone, free health insurance. and some Air Jordan's and he votes Democrat for a lifetime.
