I have grown peanuts in the garden before. Actually a pretty easy crop to raise.

We used to grow a couple of fields of peanuts.

Then govt got involved with allotments and such.

Gee. I wonder why peanut butter's $5 a jar now....

How sandy does the soil have to be to raise or maybe harvest peanuts?
Might be good to cover crop unused bets.

Question for you peanut farmers.
Do the deer and or turkeys dig them up and eat them ?
No hogs around here to worry about asking.
Thanks

I've heard that if you have trouble raising your peanuts there is something called viagra that can help.

The deer will eat the vines while they are small but by the time the plants are at thr flower stage they are to tough or bitter and they will look elsewhere, however when you dig and turn them over for drying in the field every critter from deer to crows and squirrels will chow down
