I've shot a lot and actually like powder coated bullets in 45s and 9mm.

but if anyone ever shot these at like 357 / 44 mag velocities what about even higher velocities in these chamberings out of a lever carbine.?

Don't own a lever action rifle but I've shot powder coated bullets over 1600 fps out of 10.5" 357 maximum revolvers & FA 41 magnum revolvers.

I shoot them out of my 41 mag.as well as my 45-70 and a 357/38spl.

They sure do work.

I coat some for a friend's 44 mag and the brother in laws 45 colt and they do a good job on pigs.

I am working on some 180 grain bullets for the Brit.303 and first test today with IMR-4198 shows promise.

Some don't like it and make excuses for folks using it like their bullets are mot perfect or other problems.

It does make clean up a breeze in the 9mm,45ACP and the other pistols.

I still have a bunch of 2500+ because it is what i was using after getting started casting.

Also have a bunch of old school lubes from various makers just in case.

You’ve already received some good feedback, and I’m a bit late to the party, but here’s my 2 cents worth! Powder coating lead (cast) bullets has a multitude of benefits……additional available bullet speed without the use exotic alloys and methods is but one.

I use conventional wheel weights for my casting bullets, and once started powder coating …..was immediately impressed!

This is my first group (100 yards) from my Marlin GG, 430 grain powder coated bullets. This was just a randomly chosen load and I didn’t do any more load development. I was satisfied with this, as I have been conserving components for quite a while. It’s likely with more development and a higher power scope, I used a 4x, I could have improved the groups some!

Oh….. I love the 400 grain bullets from my 460 S&W also. But, they’re only running 1500 mv! memtb

I cast and powder coat for .357 Mag, 41 Mag, 44 Spl, 44 Mag, 45 Colt, and 30-30 Win.

I have not had any issues with any of them. Powder coating beats lubrisizing hands down in my opinion.
