My Dad put them on his Rem. 722 in 1961. I would almost bet that He bought them from Herters. We used to buy about everything from Herters at Wasika MN. I have bought several 722's that have those swivels on in past years. He put a Weaver K4 on it with Weaver swing away scope rings on the 722. For close shots on fox he always used open sights. I miss him so much it hurts.
