Being over 50 with a trashed back I often think of changing careers. Have you done it?

I took the Dave Ramsey career finder and it came up with truck driver. My back won't allow me to sit for more than 2 hours at a time and my eyesight sucks too.

Just fishing for ideas.

Did it a few times. Unfortunately most backs are bad if you have worked. I can say my transition back to what I did years ago has sure been nice and enjoyable. doesn't pay quite as well but I choose not to work as much as I could. Its sure not easy on the back and body some days being a hunting and fishing guide. But most days are not bad. The worst are days on end of sitting and glassing all hours of the day. OTOH 100 plus pound loads in the pack now and then aren;'t fun but I"ve survived so far.

Montana state electrical license.

Once had a Montana guard card. That is an idea, one of the guys I worked with in security has his own company now and he pays 25 an hour.

I recently came close to assistant B.A. but someone else got it. Those guys put in 50 hours work for 41.5 hours pay. I am not sure what union you are used to.

How about a vocational school teacher? Here in communist Connecticut a lot of tradesmen are teachers in the high school vocational system.

Those who do do. Those who don’t do teach. Those who don’t teach administrate.

Good luck on your search. I had one job after high school. Glad I’m retired now
