Feral Teens.............got that right. Recall Bernhard Goetz: Bernhard Goetz shot four young Black men on a New York City Subway train in Manhattan after they allegedly tried to rob him.

Many stations are museum quality and you wouldn't even find a gum wrapper. And women weren't raped on the subway in front of passengers like in the US. I ve ridden the metro in London, Paris, Germany, Dc, San Fran , Boston, NYC, Philly, Japan, Chicago. no comparison. Japan comes close

I’ve only been on the Moscow subway once, in about 2009. It seemed clean, safe and efficient. And it is far underground, bomb shelter safe. I was on the NY subway in a similar time.it was efficient, not clean and safe as far as I could see.

Bernie Sanders, Commie former Prez candidate, spoke at length of how beautiful the Moscow subways were.

I’ve been in the “Tube” in London, the Metro in Paris and a few others in Europe as well as the Subway in New York but I have not been to Russia so I can’t compare them. I didn’t think that the Metro in Paris was any better than the New York subway. I also don’t recall being impressed by the Tube but I did like how easy it was to utilize public transportation to get around in Europe.
I’m not surprised that the Russian subway is cleaner or safer. People conditioned to be subservient and people who operate from a fear based position are not usually inclined to do stupid things that would upset their masters. Homogeneous people that have a shared sense of history tend to display more pride in their country and neighborhoods. Bring in a bunch of brown and black people and see how long they maintain the cleanliness and order they inherited…..no pride and no self respect translates into the New York subway.
I saw a documentary about the Russian “Supermax” prisons versus American supermax prisons. The differences were startling as was the behavior of the prisoners….the worst of the worst in both countries. In Russia the prisoners were treated like prisoners and they didn’t dare step out of line. From the way they were escorted to the way they were treated by the guards the prisoner was never empowered to express their “individuality” like they are here and prisoner “rights” are how Russian jokes begin. Our supermax prisons look like a day at the spa compared to the Russian prisons. Prisoners in Russia when they are being taken to eat or the shower or wherever are always accompanied by at least 2 BIG Russian MEN (guards), they’re hands and feet are not shackled and they are FORBIDDEN from looking up. They MUST walk looking down at their feet when they’re being escorted anywhere outside of their cell. Russian guards don’t “write-up” infractions they deal forcefully and immediately with violations. Even the hardest and most sadistic of Russian criminals are quickly broken and follow the rules lest they be “reprimanded”.

For most of my life before moving to Montana I used public transit on a daily basis...from getting to school on BART (SF's subway) to using BART to commute to work to using the NYC subway to get to law school and then to the office when I graduated, then back to BART when I moved back to CA. Even when I travel now I use public transit, both in the US and abroad. I actually don't care what the stations look like as long as the trains are on time, run frequently and you can get wherever you need to go for a reasonable price. If you're admiring or being repulsed by the train stations you are probably not really trying to get from point A to B.
Eliminate qualified immunity and you'll eliminate cops who act like they are above the law.
